Unlike a single national game with one weekly draw, the Kerala State Lotteries Department runs a rotating set of seven weekly tickets, one for each day. Each has its own name, its own series code and its own prize table, and the result for each is published separately.

The Thursday draw is a supervised public event. Numbers are selected mechanically in front of officials and read out in prize order — first prize, consolation, then each descending tier down to the four-digit endings. The reading takes time, which is why fragments of a result circulate before a complete document exists.

Once the reading is complete, the numbers are typed, checked and issued as the official gazette. That PDF is the record. This is the single biggest source of confusion in the Kerala week. Karunya Plus (KN) is the Thursday ticket. Karunya (KR) is the Saturday ticket. They share a name root and a welfare-linked history, but they are separate lotteries with separate draws, separate series codes and separate prize tables.

The practical consequence is that a Karunya Plus ticket will never appear on a Karunya result sheet, no matter how well the digits line up. If a number seems to match but the payout does not materialise, check the code on the ticket face before anything else — nine times out of ten it resolves the mystery.

Public holidays can also shift a draw. Confirm on the official source before drawing any conclusion — and never take an unverified “early result” as proof the draw happened.
