1. Identify your ticket name and draw number. Both are printed on the ticket. The draw number ties your ticket to one specific sheet — see our draw codes and series guide if the format is unfamiliar.
2. Open the official source. The Kerala State Lotteries department and the Government Gazette are authoritative. Newspapers reprint them reliably; random result blogs do not.
3. Match the series letters before the digits. Kerala tickets carry a letter series alongside the number. A digit match with the wrong series is not a win, and this trips people up constantly.
4. Check every prize tier, not just the top one. The lower tiers pay on partial matches and are where almost all real wins occur.
5. Have it verified by an authorised agent. Even when you are confident, agent verification against the Gazette is the step that makes a claim stick.

A Kerala result sheet is not one winning number — it is a layered structure. There is a single first prize, then a consolation prize for tickets sharing that number in other series, then a descending set of lower tiers that pay on progressively shorter digit matches, typically down to the last four digits.

• Sign the back immediately. An unsigned ticket is effectively a bearer instrument — whoever holds it can claim it.
• Keep it flat, dry and intact. Torn, laminated or defaced tickets can be rejected at verification.
• Smaller prizes go through authorised agents; larger ones are claimed through the department with identity and bank documentation.
• Tax is deducted at source on significant prizes, so the amount received is materially below the headline figure.
